Have you heard about the “Hangover Chic Look”? (The latest beauty trend)

By Daniella Djiogan

Have you guys heard about the ‘hangover chic look’ or ‘hangover makeup’? It’s basically an on-going beauty trend in Korea and Japan. Apparently, women out there have made it cool to look hangover; like after you had that super awesome night-out with your girl friends, and you woke up the next day with those eye bags and blushy cheeks.

They actually considered it cute, and to be honest I think it kind of works when you are going for that particular look (you intentionally applied that makeup yourself, and you didn’t actually wake up like that after a night-out).

I personally do not think it should be called the ‘hangover’ look, because let’s face it, when you wake up after that crazy night, you don’t just have that puffy eye and/or blushy cheek…no. Again, let’s be honest, you look like a hot mess.

Your hair looks awful, your lips are probably dry from all the alcohol you consumed the night before, your eyes are not just puffy, but your mascara and eye shadow has literally transformed you into a panda. And if that’s not enough, your fake lashes are probably on your jaws, or somewhere around your face. The whole look just doesn’t come close to being cute.

That’s why I think this new look shouldn’t be called the ‘hangover chic look’…no. I vote to call it the “tipsy chic look” . You know, when your cheeks are kind of blushy, your eye makeup are slightly in good condition, and you are just a glass away from passing out. Personally I think that’s what inspired this new look.
