Kissing Blue

Ice cold, blood thick, and veins blocked

Is it being numb that saves me?

There is beauty in water, glory in its power

I am drowning, please give me a hand.

Someone. Anyone.

You.

Save me. Pull me out of this deadly splendor of

Blue, blue everywhere my eyes wander

The light blurs and warmth takes off

Somebody come find me. Please.

Splash.

I wish I could scream, call out to you

Where are you? Come save me

Your voice echoes softly in my gathering blue

“Your fault for not being able to swim,

Wait, I will return.”

Deeper.

Blue clouds the sun, burning my eyes

My heart broken, my mind silenced

Wait, you say, wait.

And blue finally silences me with a kiss.
