My Field Day With Makeup

By Daniella Djiogan

Once in a while, I like to experiment on my face. I like to artistically paint my face to make myself look beautiful, even if I do not plan on going out.

I greatly enjoy such days because I feel like it’s my “ME” day, as I call it. A day reserved just for me, and no one else. Yesterday, I had a blast when my internet went off. It was stressful at first, but all turned out for the best. If you’re interested in reading what I did, check out my post called “a day without internet”.

Anyways, today I just felt like testing my makeup skills for no particular reason. I felt like trying different makeup to see what works for my face and what doesn’t.

I usually don’t apply much makeup when I go out, but I want to start changing that. I have been told countless times that I look like an 18 year old, which might or might not be true. I know black don’t crack but still… I want to look my age, sometimes. I am tired of people asking for my ID when I want to buy beer…I am pass 21. By the way, that’s one of the reasons I like makeup; it makes me look older, sophisticated, and confident.

I usually use five makeup tools: pencil brow, eyeliner, lipstick, mascara , and an occasional blush. On a normal day, I just use a pencil brow for my eyebrow and a lipstick. I keep it simple.

I don’t do the whole concealer, bb cream, etc. Perhaps because when I actually try it, I always end up looking like a ghost…I put too much on.

Plus, I hate it when my face looks totally different from the rest of my body. The occasional powder in my handbag is enough to cover whatever blemishes I have on my face.

So, here are some of my ‘ME’ day pictures

I woke up like this… (and washed my face as you can see)

No special routine…just soap and water.

Took out my tools, put a movie of my choice, and started the magic.

A little magic here and there and VOILA!

I’ll just add another picture cause I am so proud that my skills have improved. (Though I have a long way to go) Hehehe!!!

Had so much fun testing different makeup styles, but I am not going to show you any of the pictures because I don’t want to scare you.

By the way, do you know what the best concealer is? a good camera that airbrushes any imperfections.
