Better to Have Loved and Lost???

By Daniella Djiogan

“It’s better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all”

Who made up this quote???

Sincerely, I find it hard to believe

Loving hurts but losing hurts even more.

To have never loved feels alright for the most part.

At least that means you have never lost.

What does it mean to have loved, anyways?

Does it refer to that one-time crush?

Or that major one-sided crush you had on a guy who never loved you back?

Or is it reserved exclusively to those who have been in a relationship?

What if you never did date, but still loved? Does that count???

As far as I know, I have no idea.

Sooooo….What does it mean to have never loved?

Does it mean you are missing out?

On WHAT? Pain?

On the feeling that he loves you no more and leaves with another?

The feeling of betrayal, hurt, and anger?

The feeling that the world is going to end?

The feeling of loneliness?

The feeling that you are worthless?

The feeling of insecurity?

What else? Tell me… please tell me, I insist!!!

Is this what you call “LOVE”?

Is this what you envy so much?

Or are you going to tell me that you are that one person that never experienced any heartbreak in love?

That one person that is loved to the brim.

That one person who seems to have the perfect life

That one person who has the fairy tale love which all girls seem to envy?

That one person whom everyone secretly hates because they are jealous?

Well, if you’re that person, Good for you cause I envy you too!

As for the rest of us who have experience heartbreak, and who are conflicted with whether to love or not

Well, all I can tell you is…Oops!

Decide for yourself!

If you choose to feel hurt by love then do so.

If you feel like you can’t take it anymore, then quit him/her.

If you want to never experience pain, then be single.

Cause no one other than you should be in charge of your life.
